A note about the Kangen Water Ionizer. (demos and used models are available when we get returns)
Personally, if I hear any more people getting ripped off on this particular ionizer, I am going
to have a group tele-conference and tell everyone what I know about this company.
Kangen is multi level marketing that makes a great ionizer. It's a 4,000 dollar machine that multi-level marketing reps keep calling me every week to get me to sell them. Yes, I know that there is an eight level tier of profit spliting and the machine is worth about 1800 dollars after the research on the materials that we have found that were put into it.
If you buy just ONE ionizer at regular price we will give you as many as you want as long as
you follow our rules at dealer cost.
The MLM companies are doing a good job of introducing the concept of alkaline and acid water to people who would otherwise not know about it but they are over charging from 700 to 2,000 dollars over the real worth of the unit and this MUST stop or I will personally tell everyone what each part of the machine costs to manufacturer because I DO KNOW what they cost to make and it would make the dealer cost seem absurd.
Again, these machines need to be affordable, just like the microwave. The microwave was very expensive at first and now it sells for a tenth of the cost it did when it first came out.
What makes one ionizers better than the other?
There are two ways the quality of alkaline water is measured - by how acid or alkaline the water becomes (pH) and by how much ionization occurs (ORP).
When these machines are prices as high as 2000 or 4000 when you can buy one for under 1000 then there must be something to justify the difference.
When you have a MLM company that pays eight levels down you have to create an artificially high price because the MLM companies have up to eight representatives need to make money from every single sale. This is good since it helps get the word out but when people do learn about them then they get ripped off or can't afford one.
MLM "reps" typically do not have a thorough technical understanding of the properties of water, ionization and how the two together produce health benefits. There are exceptions -- reps who have really rolled up their sleeves and educated themselves -- but the fact remains that there is a lot of "bogus" information fed to people who have been to Enagic presentations. Going to a few MLM presentations does not make one an expert in something, especially something as complex and technical as ionization.
MLM "reps" are often innocently fed misinformation and led to believe in half truths. Then these misinformed "reps", who are motivated by the MLM dream, go forth and perpetrate these inaccuracies and mislead nave customers into falsely thinking they are getting something of great value. The price of MLM models has more to do with compensating the MLM reps than the actual cost or the comparative technology inherent in their ionizers. To verify that, simply ask MLM reps about their compensation plan and see how much money is paid to the various levels of the network organization when one machine is sold.

Water Ionizer Buyers Guide
Introduction
Water ionizers are touted as the best purchase you'll ever make. The research performed on ionized water certainly makes for compelling reading, and anyone suffering from illness is easily entertained with the results they could personally expect.
BUT a water ionizer is a machine NOT ionized water itself - and the water used in studies is not produced from the instant-electrolysis-style machine associated with the term 'water ionizer', but rather from a batch process setup using reagents for precise outputs.
The purpose of this guide is to orient you as to what to look for in a water ionizer so that you can produce ionized water in your home with the accuracy and reliability that a scientist would expect, as after all, you may be spending up to USD1000, so you want to make the right decision. We could simply tell you to buy a specific device, but we prefer to educate you in "what questions to ask", as ionizers are most likely a new concept to you.
PLEASE DO NOT buy a water ionizer on sight or straight after talking to a sales person. A water ionizer purchase requires consideration like any other purchase; if you are being pushed for a quick decision then your hope is being anchored to salvation which an ionizer cannot guarantee. Worse still a tempting free trial may lead you to invest in a device with a steadily declining performance.
Facts and figures
Anyone selling an ionizer should know their facts and figures and if they don't should be able to quickly find out the information you are seeking. You'll want to know:
- Warranty duration and coverage
- Electrode surface area
- Expected water flow rate on typical municipal supply
- Number of pre-set output levels and the expected pH AND ORP at each level (can you modify PH levels)
- Length of time the ionizer can be safely operated for without getting too hot
- Cleaning cycle frequency and duration
- Is the "flow control" electronic or manual
- Single Filter or Dual
- Expected electrode effective life (i.e. how long before the ionizer can not longer attain the answers to question 4)
Answers to each of these questions are very useful, and for the most part their usefulness is obvious. Where we can expect a company to stumble is on question 2. They may know the number of electrodes but unlikely the surface area. The number of electrodes will barely affect the strength of ionization but the surface area will. The reason you will struggle to get an answer is two-fold. First, the manufacturer doesn't want you to know and so hasn't told the dealer, as the price of water ionizers is attributed to the electrode materials (platinum and titanium) so if there's not much of it in there the price is a farce. Second, the dealer is likely to have never opened an ionizer, removed the electrolysis cell, opened it up, measured an electrode and done the basic math's. (N.B. we have done this to multiple ionizers).
So here's a list of preferable answers to the above set of questions:
- A good water filter will have a lifetime warranty, so an ionizer should really have at least 5-10 years. Ideally the electrolysis cell, being the most expensive part, is specifically covered for effective function for this time.
- If an electrolysis cell has a surface area under 25 inches square, it may become defective after sooner than later.
- The number of pre-set output levels is only really relevant if they are non-user-configurable. In any case you want to know the output pH's. Don't settle for "pH varies depending on input water" as that's obvious. You want to know figures. ALL scientific studies are based on specific pH levels, and the consensus on a recommended range for consumption is 9.3 - 9.8, so you want to know.
- This is important as many users may run an ionizer for long periods, perhaps to serve many people or fill a large container. In any case, you don't want to damage a machine and find the warranty doesn't cover you simply because you had no idea. If you can find a machine without a transformer, go for it.
- Cleaning cycles are essential but you don't want them to be too inconvenient.
Servicing
In the event of your precious ionizer requiring servicing you want know that it will be dealt with quickly and effectively, but also, at the dealers expense. This raises two important questions:
Can the ionizer be fully serviced/repaired in the U.S
You do not want your ionizer sent overseas as this will delay things too much.
Control
Different pH levels have different applications, so surely you want to control the output pH precisely. If pH 5.5 is the pH of the skin then you want pH 5.5, not pH 5 or 6. Please find out the level of control available to you and how easily and how accurately you can exercise this control.
Control is NOT adjusting the input flow rate and neither is it using a pH test solution.
The water filter
Water Ionizers are water filters too, so unless you intend to pre-filter, please ask the following questions:
- Water filter physical filtration level
- Rated filter lifetime in liters
- Typical filter lifetime in months
- Replacement filter cost
The answers to questions 2-4 in this section will make straight forward comparison material. For question 1 a little technical information is required.
Typical carbon blocks operate at around the 1 micron level. Ideally a 0.5 microns physical block should be achieved to guarantee parasite and heavy metal removal.
Sometimes a filter is offered with ionizers that claim a bizarrely high level of filtration like 0.01 microns. Whilst sold as "comparable to dialysis equipment", these clog far too easily, reducing the overall effectiveness of your investment.
It is normal to filter water in stages, and whilst modern carbon blocks are often 'multi-layered' this is not comparable to physically separate filters. Traditionally, below 1 micron a 5 micron pre-filter of wound polypropylene is implemented, off-setting the buildup of large particulate on the finer filter.
Your right to a refund
Given that you have requested all this information, you want to reserve the right to a refund if the machine does not live up to its promises. Please mention this and ensure the answers to your investigations are supplied in writing and not just verbally.
My job is not to tell people not to get this one or that one. I have access to all ionizers (except one model) at my cost
to my co-op members. I also have recdordings of stores lying about distillers that my customers have sent me.

Ionizers that typically sell under 700 dollars
A good, no-frills workhorse unit that will provide you quality water at an affordable price. Shares features of more expensive models but might not have the same amount of the product. It might just have a little bit of the expensive stone or whatever it is that works but just enough in it to say that "it has it". It may also have a filter-only mode for purified water, Hot water and low pressure alert, Bar graph display to tell you how much life your filter has left, and Stainless steel outlet hose for alkaline water. Best buy for tight budgets. I would definately use a pump with this one unless you want to destroy your filters and have to buy filters all the time. It's sad that they "get you" with a cheap machine that does the job at first but then they make all their money on the filters. You need to decide if you want a better machine up front that can handle the hardest and most acidic water or if you want to just use the pump.
700 to 1000 dollar machines (that is, ones that retail at that, not wholesale at that or if you buy 100 of them at that price, LOL)
We call these the MICRO VERSIONS OF THE MASTER MODEL THAT IS IS REPLICATED FROM OR RESEMLES. You probably will need a pump with this or at the very least I would prill the water first so that it doesn't tax the filters too much and you get to use the unit longer and not prematurely age it. You can get almost the quality of the $1250 to $1500 machine but it requires a lot more handling... prilling, pumping, switching the water from one container to another, etc.
Models that retail for 1000 to 1250 dollars
THESE ARE TYPICALLY THE MOST POPULAR MODELS AS THEY ARE NOT THE CHEAPEST AND NOT THE BEST WE CARRY
All features of above models plus patented ability that allows continued use while self-cleaning fully automatic reverse cleaning system which gives you clean, alkaline, ionized water every time you turn on the water. The ionizers in this range might give you a wait time of 15 seconds while they clean. Some may have this or some might not. I am not going to say that these are bad or good. It's the middle of the road. You might not need a pump for this one if you are careful to not let the water come out too much at one time. The more that comes out at once time the less the machine can make it alkaline and restore the water.
Models that cost 1250 to 1500 on the retail side
I rate the ionizers in this range the top of the consumer class for personal use. These are good if high output is not a concern or if you just need an ionizer that will do the best job but do not need it for high performance. It is not fun when you have to purposely turn the water output very low just to get their highest alkalinity. This would be borderline if you were using it for a family but it is not near the commercial quality that you might need if you plan on using it too much. These get returned sometimes usually due to the output or that a higher alkalinity is needed due to their water source. One person's water might do just fine with this machine but another person might have such bad starting point that they need one that is better.
A pump is sometimes needed with this.
1500 to 2000 price range.
There is only so much that can go into a portable water ionizer. At this price range it tops off with just about all the material that you want that the cheaper ones do not have due to cost restrictions. These do not sell as good as the cheaper ones but it is like an investment. These typically have a longer warranty and do not prematurely wear out. You typically do not have to wait as long for the same alkalinity that the cheaper ones do since you don't have to wait as long for water to come out. These in this price range have more plates in them and are made with more industrial material. This is as close as you can get to a commercial ionizer
$4000 range.
Well, I am not going to say it is worth 4000 dollars. This is good if you want to start a business and you have the whole town buying water from you at 3 bucks a gallon...and yes, that is a story I hear every day that chiropractors are charging this amount to use their machine. It is not even a commercial machine. This machine doesn't give the highest alkalinity since it is not the newest one which is the Life Ionizer but it gives very high output. You need to decide if you want the extreme durability and construction or you want performance in that it gives a very high alkalinity and can handle tougher water to turn alkaline. This is a very tricky since many people might have really bad water and they might need a stronger unit but many people that don't have a highly acidic water might be able to get one that gives the highest alkalinity of water per minute but the people that want the 4000 dollar might want to get that one because there water is not the worst and they can let it run full force at the highest level since they are coming from a not so bad starting point.

Our staff has experience with just about all the models on the market. We have gotten free samples of almost all the ionizers on the market.
We can tell you our experiences with each one. One ionizer might be good for one person but not for you depending on your water. We can actually
look up your city's water report and tell you if you can get by with the cheap one or you need to buy an expensive unit. We won't just try to sell you something that you don't need. Most people do need better units unless they want to take timely measures such as the pumping, prilling, and changing filters on a more than regular basis.
Many of the ionizers are priced based on quality and some have a 5 times markup, that is, from the cost to make the unit, which is usually the multi-level type. I do not believe in multilevel marketing anything. Although it gives people opportunities to make money it raises the prices and people don't get what they pay for.
There is a water ionizer that costs $4000 and people DO pay it. In my opinion, it is just as good as the ones that sell for half as much. When people buy the $4000 model, around $2000 of it goes to the downline of people selling it and other expenses that have nothing to do with the product.
I have been researching water ionizer scams and we are happy to share what we have researched to anyone that calls. We do NOT sell water ionizers so we are not biased. We simply give you a promotional code to give to the manufacturer and they take care of you accordingly.

Sale
We are no longer going to carry the Aquarius Ionizer due to problems we have had with
our distributors. I will not take returns on the Aquarius or their other 2 models. They are
new but I do not have anything good to say about them. You can find many of them being sold
on Ebay. These are the people that sell them and buy better ones. The machines they make are good but not for the types of customers that have highly acidic water.
WARNING: STORING ALKALINE WATER
You can lose the high alkalinity of the water if you store it. Many people are using their friends machines and filling up 5 gallon buckets or water gallons.
The number one thing people say when they call us is "There are so many ionizers out there, how do I know which one to pick?" We understand that you are making an investment in your health, and we are here to help.
